Little Saiyalings - The College Years
By: MU

Authors Note: The first day of school has finally arrived for the LSCY gang.  For all of you that have experienced your first day of college, you know what kind of anticipation it brings.  For those of you that have not, it is an experience in itself.  Either way, we’ll let the imagination take care of what you think happened to the gang on their way to class, but we’ll start during one particularly early class.  North City University, the LSCY gang has arrived!

Chapter 12 – Chilled Reactions

“…and that, students, is why we have to follow safety procedures in the particle accelerator observation chamber.  We wouldn’t want any of you to end up like old Bucky.”  The professor pointed at a picture of a cartoon radioactive squirrel, as he waddled by it in the front of the lecture hall.  “Well, that seems like a satisfactory first class period.  You are all dismissed.”  (Author’s Note: I have no idea what kinds of things that a real nuclear engineering/physics major studies in laboratory environments.  I do hope that I didn’t offend anyone.)

As everyone else in the class made their way out of the doors of the lecture hall, Bulma Briefs, this particular class’ Teaching Assistant, made her way to the back of the classroom.  There she found one sleeping student, whom the professor seemed not to notice as he slipped out the door behind the students.

Bulma walked over to the sleeping student, who was sprawled out on top of his notebook.  She wondered if he was drooling on it.  The fact that she knew exactly who it was made it all the more funny to picture.  Nobody else had hair that naturally vertical…there was no mistaking that it was Vegeta.  As she rounded the row, she noticed that he was mumbling something in his sleep.  She made sure to walk next to him as quietly as possible so as to not wake him up.

“Must defeat Kakarott…I am the greatest…he will bow before me.”  As Bulma heard these words come from Vegeta’s mouth, she thought to herself, Man, this guy’s delusional.  Who the heck is Kakarott anyway?  She waited a few seconds, and then she decided to kick him in the leg so he would wake up.  Just as she went to do so, she heard him say, “Kakarott will bow before me, the Prince…”

Bulma took this as her cue to kick him, “No, he won’t.  And neither will anybody else.  What kind of a loser falls asleep during Nuclear Physics lecture?  That’s a great way to fail the class.”

Vegeta’s eyes came into focus as he clutched his leg that was searing with pain.  “Damn it Woman!  Why did you do that?”

“Shake it off, ya baby!”  Bulma gave Vegeta an evil smile – the kind that says “Loser!”

“Oh, it’s you…that annoying rich girl from high school.”  He stood up, folded his arms across his chest, and gave her a stare that seemed to indicate that he thought himself to be superior.  “What’s the matter?  Mad that I’m still here because your fashion design class is going to start?”  His voice changed to a more taunting ton as he mocked, “Ohh, that’s too bad.  I guess I’ll have to leave so you don’t cry.”  Vegeta then started laughing.

Bulma got steamed for a second, and then calmed down.  “No Vegeta…as a matter of fact, I’m the TA for this class.  If you want to pass, you’ll have to get by me.  Besides, I don’t know why they let a dumb jock like you be a Nuclear Physics major.  Your track scholarship isn’t going to help you with your particle tracking.”  She smirked at him.

Vegeta, wrinkled his face for a second, and then got a small grin on his face as he began to pick up his things off of the table and put them in his bag.  After everything was in the bag, he put one strap of the backpack across his back in a cocky fashion.  Then he started to walk towards her.  As she stood there, she wondered what he was going to pull.  He kept right on smiling, and as he got to where she was standing, he slowed down.  He nudged her aside with his shoulder, and walked by as he said, “Well, I’ve just passed you, so it looks like I will be passing this class easily.”  He walked down the stairs and said nothing as Bulma stood for a second, surprised.

When Vegeta got to the door he paused, and then remarked, “Oh, and the whole pun about track.  That would be amusing, if it weren’t so stupid.  Well, I’ll be passing to my next class now.  It’s English.  Maybe you should learn some, so you’re not saying such stupid things in public…it really would be an embarrassment.”  He chuckled and walked out the door.

For a few moments Bulma just stood blinking.

“That jerk!” Bulma yelled as she charged down the stairs.  “I was being nice, waking him up and all,  but nooooo…”

She started to pace in front of the empty lecture hall as he ranted on for about five minutes, not noticing when Goku entered the room.  Nor did she notice Krillin, Chi-Chi, and Pud follow Goku in.  They waited by the door as Bulma got to a climax in her monologue.

“…and I’ll show him that I’m not just a girl, but the girl who’s going to make sure that he never passes this class.  That’ll teach him to disrespect me!”  As she finished, she stood there steaming.

“Are you done yet?”  Krillin interjected.

“Argh!” Bulma let out a scream, “When did you guys get here?  Did you hear all of that?”

“Uhhh…yeah, we did.  We’ve been her for about 20 minutes,” Chi-Chi replied.

“So we’ve only got 15 minutes until class starts,” Goku pointed out.  “Coach said I can’t be late for even on class, or I will have to miss practice due to the athletics code.  And, don’t you remember that we were all supposed to meet you here to walk to our next class?”

“Well, she can continue ranting, I say,” Pud laughed, “I really enjoyed it.  Can you repeat that ten word insult?  That one was good.”

Bulma gave Pud a nasty look.  Pud laughed even harder.  Then, he used his powers to mirror her face exactly (3-dimensional and everything).  Goku and Chi-Chi burst out laughing.  Clearly, Bulma was not amused.

“We’ve got Freshman Experience English 110 in 10 minutes!  We’re leaving now!”  She stormed out the door, and could be heard complaining about her “three immature friends” far down the halls of the science building.

The remaining three eventually pulled themselves together, and headed off to class.  All the way, the three of them would talk through a mind link created by Pud, and occasionally burst out laughing.
